And, just when you think you've explored the best that this country has to offer, climb aboard mountain trains to reach the highest summits of the Alps as you marvel at the most magnificent scenery in the region. Although this tour is not strenuous, it does include a considerable amount of walking, so bring a sturdy pair of shoes!

~ Zermatt, accessible only by train, at the base of the Matterhorn, offering spectacular views of the famous mountain

~ The mountainous landscape that surrounds the Matterhorn, including Gornergrat, a ridge that overlooks the Gorner Glacier, and the world's highest cog-wheeled railway taking passengers to the top of the mountain
