~  Aix-en Provence’s beautiful boulevards, the intricate medieval cathedral, and former studio of Cézanne, explored while taking a walking tour of the old town, followed by a visit to one of the best farmers markets in the world

~ The cobblestone streets of Arles, including its Roman ruins and monuments, dating back to the 10th century

~ Sennaque Abbey to see how the monks grow lavender, followed by a visit to the hilltop town of Gordes, considered one of the most beautiful villages in France, for olive oil tasting and shopping

~ A rustic Provençal village outside of Aix-en-Provence for an evening with a wine tasting at a vineyard followed by dinner at a local restaurant, featuring traditional herb-accented regional Provençal dishes, named for this region

~ The beautiful Mediterranean seaside town of Cassis, a favorite resort as far back as the Roman era

~ Views of the Mediterranean from the clifftops of Cape Ferrat followed by a visit to Villa Ephrussi, owned by the Rothchild family, and its nine gardens

~ The hilltop, walled village of St. Paul de Vence, one of the oldest Medieval towns on the Riviera, that has inspired artists for centuries, including Marc Chagall and Jaques Raverat, for a walking tour and Provencal dinner

~ Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany, for a guided tour of the town known for its Renaissance walls, red-tiled rooftops, medieval churches, and swathe of cypress trees, followed by a visit to Pisa and its iconic leaning tower, cathedral and Baptistery of St. John

~ Florence, birthplace of opera, the Italian language, and the Renaissance, with Brunelleschi’s masterpiece, located in Florence’s massive Duomo, to the church of Santa Croce, where the tombs of Galileo and Michelangelo are displayed 

~ An optional excursion through the Tuscan hills for an unforgettable evening at Fiesole, overlooking the city of Florence from high atop a mountain, for a feast of traditional Tuscan fare ($95/pp)

~ An optional excursion to the town of Siena, famous for its 13th Century Gothic cathedral,boasting a marble mosaic floor that took almost 200 years to complete, followed by a visit to Chianti to learn about Italy's wine history, including a winery tour and wine-tasting ($119/pp)
