Madrid is the lively political and cultural capital of Spain. Its history steeped in revolution and its people passionate about their country and its roots. Feast your eyes on the royal riches at the Prado and the Palacio Real, wander through Toledo’s gothic cathedral and cobblestone streets, and when your hands-on history lesson is complete, fast-forward to the present day to feast on tapas, drink sangria, join the street life and dance the night away.

~  Travel to Toledo, the clifftop city often referred to as La Ciudad Imperial (Imperial City);  tour the city's massive Gothic cathedral, which houses 750 medieval stained glass windows and masterpieces by the likes of van Dyck, El Greco, Rubens and Titian; then explore the labyrinth of medieval alleyways at the heart of the city, the Santo Tome Church, and one of Europe’s oldest synagogues, Santa Maria la Blanca


~ Experience a traditional Spanish evening with dinner at one of the oldest restaurants in the city, and entertainment of "tuna music",  an artistic tradition with its roots in Spain's universities


~ Take an optional excursion to Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985 for its diverse old city and ancient Roman aqueduct, the Gothic Segovia Cathedral, and famous Moorish Alcázar Palace (this excursion requires an additional tour fee of $89 per person)
